Christian Louboutin Africaba Tote

IMAGE: CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

After your eyes have figured out where the tote bag starts and where it ends, this is what you need to know about Christian Louboutin’s latest offering, the Africaba Tote. Working closely with charity La Maison Rose whose mission is to provide aid to the most vulnerable of women and children of Senegal, they have come up with a tote that a) is unique statement of bold West African style and b) will also do good with 10% of its sale proceeds donated to aforementioned charity.

Suitable for both men and women, this fabric tote is also huge, spanning some 68 cm across at its widest by 34 cm in height. Decorated with a Christian Louboutin crest on the front along with a couple of beads hanging from its leather handles, this workhorse of a bag also comes with its own removable shoulder sling, handy if you need to be hands-free.

Priced at SGD1900 (it is 95% cotton fabric, by the way, so I leave it to you to decide if it’s worth it)

Christian Louboutin’s custom heels designed for Dita Von Teese’s show!

For Dita’s show the Cat Woman 120 was modified with a thin ankle strap specifically to show up on a tableau-style projection. The strass on the shoe imitates the silk of Dita’s Zuhair Murad gown.
image
The Merci Allen from the A/W 15 collection was given a dégradé pattern to match the strass embroidery on her dress.

An Italian made dancing shoe, this design features Dita’s name in crystals on a PVC strap. It features a thicker heel allowing for easy movement.

Dita’s favourite shoe, the criss-cross Vagalami, was given an all-over silver strass makeover to match another one of her dazzling gowns.

This final round toed dégradé strass, pair features a spike inside a thick PVC heel. But when the stage lights hit the shoes, the PVC is nearly invisible giving the illusion that Dita is dancing on spikes!

Christian Louboutin S/S16 Explorafunk Backpack

Categories:Christian Louboutin

IMAGE: CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

If you ever wondered what would happen if a man wearing a Hawaiian print shirt collided into someone carrying a toolbox, this would be it. In fact, make that a really hideous shirt, which pretty sums up the Explorafunk Backpack from Christian Louboutin’s S/S16 collection. But I jest.

Measuring some 39.5 cm by 31 cm, it’s a printed-floral-on-calf-leather backpack that’s as functional inside and out. On the interior, you’ll find a laptop pouch and a zip pocket, on the outside, an additional 3 more zip pockets that will allow you to organise to your hearts’ content. With a front flap covering the drawstring pull closure, the generous flourishing of studs on the sides and the front flap won’t be to everyone’s taste, with the floral print seriously not helping much at all either. Actually, I take it all back. Say what you want, but this SGD3300 backpack is seriously a case of much too much. And then some more. What say you?
